Custom Orders

Lately, I have been asked to make special pieces for customers who’s beloved horse has died.  They have asked me to make a piece using the horse’s hair.  I have designed Horsehair Vases and Horsehair Tiles for these occasions, but am open to creating other designs for this purpose. Please contact me if you are interested in having me make a special piece in memory of your  horse.

What Customers are Saying

I had Lois make a couple of tiles with the tail hairs from a beloved roping horse that passed this year. Lois was congenial and prompt and on short notice was able to get my tiles done in time for Christmas. The finished product was reasonably priced and beautiful!   Elisa (Colorado)

When looking for a way to create a memorial for my horse who recently passed away, I wanted something special. While Lois’ website featured pottery, I contacted her asking about a wall hanging. She explained the way she worked and her medium, and the pieces she could create. Upon choosing a design that worked with my style and budget, she created samples and emailed me photos asking for my preference. Once decided, she created custom work from my horse’s hair that were beautiful and were obviously made with such love. Because I ordered two wall hangings, Lois emailed me photos of four options, allowing me to choose the two I liked best. Upon making my decision, she packaged and shipped her beautiful creations. They arrived quickly and were packaged carefully, and even included a surprise from Lois. My communication with Lois was excellent; she always combined care, humor, and professionalism and made me aware of her progress at every step. She honored my horse’s memory and understood the importance of this work for me. I felt comfortable and confident with Lois during the entire process. I would not hesitate to work with her again, as well as refer any friends looking to combine a piece of their horse and heart in a special way.       Jessica (New York)
